About Us

Pillars

Our inspiration stems from our encounters with communities and the reinterpretation of the versatile geometry of traditional Mexican attire. Each collection seeks to revalue techniques, iconographies, and worldviews through respect and in-depth research
We operate under a model contrary to the accelerated calendar of the traditional fashion industry. Each collection is annual, featuring timeless pieces designed to transcend seasons. We don't produce more. We produce better
We believe in material responsibility. We apply circular design principles and zero-waste methodologies inspired by traditional indigenous pattern-making. We strive for every centimeter of textile to have a purpose. Our pieces prioritize conscious processes, respected timelines, and ethical collaborations
Clothing has no gender. We do not design with masculine or feminine in mind, but rather focus on silhouettes, movement, and individual expression. The garment becomes a tool for each person to define their identity. We perceive the body as a free territory

Guillermo Jester is a contemporary fashion brand based in Mexico City that proposes a non-binary vision of apparel. The brand stems from the quest to break away from the social constructs of fashion and gender roles, perceiving clothing as a free language capable of adapting to any body without predefined labels

More than designing garments, we construct visual narratives where tradition, experimentation, and contemporaneity coexist. Our practice is rooted in collaboration with artisanal communities in Mexico, primarily in Chiapas, integrating traditional techniques into a modern, timeless, and genderless aesthetic

We do not speak of rescue. We speak of exchange.

Manifest

Clothing has no gender. The body doesn't need categories to exist. Tradition isn't outdated; it's a living, evolving language. We don't believe in fast fashion or mass production. We believe in time, in the process, and in the hands that craft each piece. We design garments that don't respond to seasons, but to identity. Garments that don't impose a way of inhabiting the body, but rather accompany it. Collaboration isn't assistance. It's shared creation. Fashion can be a free space.

That which has been written regarding Guillermo Jester.

He began his career at Carla Fernández’s Taller Flora, where he learned the art of collaborating with artisans, conducting research, and merging contemporary design with traditional techniques. His various diplomas in Mexico and abroad—including studies in New York and Milan—provided him with extensive knowledge of international markets and their application to the world of contemporary textile craftsmanship. As the founder of the genderless brand Guillermo Jester, he has positioned Mexican artisanal design across various fashion platforms. He presented his first collection in Milan, Italy, and his work has been featured in several digital and print media outlets, such as Elle México, Vogue México, Harper's Bazaar, L'Officiel, and various specialized fashion blogs. One of the brand's primary differentiators is its appreciation for the silhouettes of traditional indigenous clothing. In addition to collaborating with Mexican artisans, at least 80% of his collections consist of textiles or finishes handcrafted by these communities. This process includes deep research into the techniques, iconography, and worldview (cosmovisión) of the elements that define the cultural identity of the groups with whom he collaborates.
